And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve…….but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

The “Don’t Mess with Texas” is the anti litter campaign Texas adopted a few years ago. I always liked the catchy little phrase and feel it portrays the heart of this great state.

Just as the Texans got serious about cleaning up their act, concerning littering their land, I’m reminded that as Christians we may need to do a little “in house” cleaning of our own. We come up with catchy phrases like the WWJD but I believe most of us already know what Jesus would do. We just need to decide if we are going to live our lives in obedience to Him and His Word.

OK! Enough preaching Lou… Texans have arrived in Guatemala and tomorrow they will be the first Texas missionaries ever to go to Piedra Partida.

David Deslatte heads up this missionary team of sixteen teenagers and three adults. They are all from FBC Groves,TX-southeast Texas.

Team arrives at GUA airport.

They have come armed and ready to hold a VBS for 200 children, deliver food and bless pastors in some remote villages.

Ely holds a lava rock.

As you know a few weeks ago the volcano Pacaya erupted. Ely holds a rock the size of those that fell around his house some twenty miles away. Now I understand why concrete roofs are so very important. In Amatitlan some of these burning chunks of lava burned holes in the roofs destroying many houses.
