Pueblo Nuevo Church – Guatemala

On Thursday, we rode in the back of 4×4 trucks to a place called Pueblo Nuevo. A new church has been planted there and is only THREE months old. We went to encourage them and see the site they had prepared.

While there we had the opportunity to share the gospel with some non believers, and later we shared food with all. The ladies leave walking while carrying the 25 pounds of food on their heads.

One thing that we all took away from being there was that they needed a church building before the rains start in June. It weighed heavy on our hearts and consumed much of our conversation. We realized that the church had done all they could do preparing the land and buying a few concrete blocks along with making the make shift shelter of sort where they worshiped. We talked about what we could do and committed to pray and see how the Lord would lead us individually. A couple of team members as well as a few others have felt led to help financially. Last night, as I was leaving church, I felt the Lord say, sow what you have and trust me for the rest. It’s much easier to talk about being a faith based ministry than actually living it out. I have emailed Eduardo, Maressa and Rosa and will be wiring the funds, that we have, this week. The total cost for the church building will be around $10,000. Pueblo Nuevo is in a remote area and we know that the cost of having materials delivered there will be costly. We will be sending $3000 this week to get things underway.

I may also organize a team to go and work, in May, to help finish the church before the rains begin. The Lord is in control and we trust Him for all provisions. Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to share with you what God is doing in Guatemala. To Him be all glory!

Thank you!God bless you,

Lewis
